Empowered Faith Communities

Empowered Faith Communities (EFC) offers a model of engagement & discipleship that differs from the way the Church has traditionally engaged with people living in poverty.

EFC’s approach removes any premise of benevolence, instead seeking to harness the strengths that already exist within individuals and communities, and build people’s capacity to help themselves and each other. Through a simple meal, followed by an optional ‘small group’ discussion, EFC creates a space where those on the margins are not just welcomed but can belong and contribute without the pressure to change.
